At Whiteheath Infant and Nursery School, the wellbeing of our children, staff, and wider community is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create a nurturing, supportive, and positive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and cared for.

Promoting Wellbeing for Our Children

• Full-Time Pastoral Support Worker
  We are proud to have a full-time Pastoral Support Worker who provides dedicated support to individuals through one-to-one sessions. Their role is to promote wellbeing and ensure that every child feels happy, safe, and ready to learn. This personalised care helps children build confidence and resilience, reinforcing our school motto:
  “Try your best, make good choices, and be kind.”

• Friendship Week
  Instead of calling it Anti-Bullying Week, we celebrate Friendship Week to promote kindness, inclusivity, and positive relationships. Through age-appropriate activities and discussions, we help our children develop important social skills and learn the value of being a good friend.

• World Kindness Day
  As part of our commitment to kindness, we actively take part in World Kindness Day, encouraging children to perform acts of kindness both in school and at home.

• School Councillors and Helping Hands
  Our School Councillors and Helping Hands play an important role in playground life, offering peer support to ensure that all children feel included and have someone to turn to during playtime.

• Our School Dog
  We are proud to have a school dog as part of our community. The presence of our furry friend brings comfort and joy, helping to support the emotional wellbeing of children across the school.

• A Holistic Curriculum
  We use the Dimensions Curriculum and 3D PSHE units to teach children essential skills for managing emotions, building resilience, and fostering positive relationships. These programmes are embedded into daily school life to support personal, social, and emotional development.
